Project Objectives

Objective 1. Education and Outreach: Build knowledge and capacity about EPR amongst Bay Area staff in targeted counties and cities of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa and San Mateo.

Deliverables: Twelve presentations or meetings in target counties on EPR
  1. Napa Vallejo Waste Management Authority 9/3/09
  2. City of Belmont 9/8/09
  3. Delta Diablo Sanitation District 9/9/09

Objective 2. Development and Implementation
of EPR Policies and Programs

Deliverables: Provide model staff reports, resolutions, and policy language to target communities
  1. Napa County Board of Supervisors 9/3/09
  2. City of American Canyon 9/3/09

Objective 3. CPSC will work with consumer associations and business groups to identify the unique concerns of the business community, disseminate information about sustainable practices to Bay Area businesses, and promote use of recycled content products to local government purchasing agents.

Deliverables: Meet with 20 local businesses and business groups and present EPR information
  1. Keep California Beautiful Board Meeting 7/22/09
Deliverables: Give 6 EPR presentations, one each, to Bay Area water quality, storm water, environmental health, public health, climate change and green business conferences
